Our Rides

(Unless otherwise stated, all rides meet up opposite the River Wyre Hotel, A585, Mains Lane, Poulton, bus stop layby, cycle lane east bound side)

 Training (ask for Steve)
Some members take part in racing events, time trials, triathlons and get together at weekend saturday or sunday to train together riding circuits on their own or group tempo rides, the aim is to improve racing performance or just your own ability.  We use circuits around Lytham and various 5/10/15/20/25 mile circuits near Elswick.
If you would like to be part of a regular fast training group of like minded people, then come down and join in a few and if you like you would be very welcome to join CRC.
Various meet points and times.

Sunday 9:00 Inters (17+mph) (ask for Gordon)
As the name of the group suggests this is a ride for intermediate level riders, group members should be reasonably experienced as the group rides at a fairly quick pace. Members can expect to cover steep/hilly terrain which can vary between 40 (short ride) and 80 miles.
We plan to organise Park and Ride events during the year too such as Coal Road Challenge, Fleet Moss - Park Rash and various Lake District Rides including Honister Pass, Hardknott and maybe the Fred Witton Challenge. Meet time is 09:00 Summer and 09:30 Winter from River Wyre bus shelter, Poulton, Mains Lane, opposite River Wyre Hotel.

Sunday 9:00 Gruppetto (15mph) (ask for Stephen)
Touring Rides for New & Developing riders, approx 40-60+miles subject to weather on day 15mph average speed and back around 14.00pm for the shorter ride.
Meet time is 09:00 Summner and 09:30 Winter from River Wyre bus shelter, Poulton, Mains Lane, opposite River Wyre Hotel.

In Summer one of these rides each month will be designated a longer ride 60+ miles, we do want riders to progress themselves, if this is not yet suitable then ensure you choose rides on the other three sundays for the shorter 40+ miler. Anyone is welcome on the longer ones but you will need to take the option of returning at some point outward.

• New to cycling and looking for support perhaps
• You may already have a base of fitness but want to build for a spring sportive perhaps
• Returning after a break and need to build fitness
• Simply can't justify more than half a day out riding
• Worried the ride might go too fast
• Group riding can be challenging if new to it
Then this may be for you and to support these needs for developing riders. All the rides are designed to be limited to match ability and ambitions. The goal is to deliver steady paced rides limited hills and a decent mid-point cafe break to refresh riders. The goal is to have you back in time to do all those other things that we all need to get done, nobody will be left behind.
Why not come along and try it or to learn more or see the web site and it's forum for more information.

1st Tuesday in the Month All Clubs Ride (ask for Gill)
CRC organise this once a month ride, all riders welcome, these are very social touring speed and upto 75 miles dependant on weather and time of year, start time usually earlier at 09:30. Details are posted on our facebook and on here several days beforehand.

Tuesday 09:30 or 10:30 Social Ride (16-18mph) (ask for Dave, Syd, Mel, Gill)
An early ride is available and often pre-arranged on our facebook and website forum, this will be a longer ride dependant on weather and some hills as well, those that wish to go later have the option of 10:30. Often 6-12 riders, some may peel off for shorter ride or remeet later at the cafe. Can be a speedy run in back home. Meet point River Wyre bus shelter, Poulton, Mains Lane, opposite River Wyre Hotel.

Wednesday & Thursdays 10:30 Remoulds Ride (14-17mph) (ask for Peter)

Mid-week spontaneous, unplanned outings decided on the day to take account of...who turns up, which cafe fancied, weather conditions etc. All-year round usually at an average speed of 14-17 mph with distances of between 30-50 miles. Meet point River Wyre bus shelter, Poulton, Mains Lane, opposite River Wyre Hotel.
